COFFEE IN FOCUS

Rwanda Cyangugu Grade 1

For each newsletter we like to feature our favourite coffee that we’ve come across in recent months.

New for 2011 is Rwanda Cyangugu G1 Washed Arabica. This offering is a mix of bourbon and typica, grown in the Lake Kivu region of Rwanda. This origin is reasonably new to coffee, following years of civil and political unrest not a lot of coffee was grown or exported from here. Traditionally anything produced often ended up in Europe, but of late we have seen coffee from Rwanda spread further around the world. A great deal of interest and care has been put back into Rwanda in recent years in order to assist in the development and growth of their coffee industry.

This coffee is delicious and versatile. It carries soft flavours of floral cedar as well as a creamy and sweet mouthfeel. Rwanda is a fantastic, diverse and new coffee origin and AIR is very happy to have some available to share with you.
